West Australian Corn Growers director Jim Trandos was invited to be a key speaker at the 2016 ABARES Outlook Conference held in April. ABARES is the science and economics research bureau within the Australian Government Department of Agriculture and Water Resources. The theme of Outlook 2016 was Investing in agriculture – growing our future. It recognised the need for ongoing investment in the agriculture sector to ensure its future success. The opening address for the event was by the Hon Barnaby Joyce MP, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Agriculture and Water.
